Salman Khan to partner with Govinda once again

Mumbai, April 12 -- Back in the '90s, Govinda was nothing short of a superstar. However, after a string of flops in the 2000s, he fell off the map. Amid several forgettable appearances, he had one major film to his credit: Partner (2007), with Salman Khan. Since then, he has had 11 releases. But barring Life Partner (2010) and some critical acclaim as a forest department official in Mani Ratnam's Raavan (2010), there's been little worth writing about.
Now, with the actor desperately in need of a good project, the man coming to his rescue again seems to be Salman. On April 10, the two were spotted at the screening of director Mahesh Manjrekar's new Marathi film, Aajcha Divas Majha, at Ketnav Theatre in Bandra. It made us curious. And on looking into it, we found out that Salman has apparently agreed to star in and produce a film with Govinda. "Salman is eager to take his production house forward after Chillar Party (2011). Mahesh has discussed a project with Salman and Govinda," says an insider.
A couple of years ago, Mahesh had announced the Hindi remake of his Marathi directorial venture, Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho (2010). He had apparently offered Govinda the lead role then, with Salman Khan Being Human Productions Productions (SKBH) on board. Govinda is believed to have turned down the offer as he did not like the concept.
However, the new film being talked about now seems to be a different one. "It isn't Shikshanachya. It's another film, which has appealed to both the actors," the source adds.
When contacted, Govinda says, "Yes, Salman, Mahesh and I have had meetings to discuss a project, which is in the pipeline. As and when it works out, it will be announced. I want to make a proper comeback, and need a good platform."
Currently, the only project Govinda is working on is a remake of Avtaar (1983 Rajesh Khanna-starrer), helmed by Pahlaj Nihalani, who directed the original.

Is Salman Khan being unfair to the fighters in Mental?

The action star’s upcoming movie has been delayed as the fighters from the South have stalled the shoot demanding changes in their payment and hiring structure

Salman Khan is no doubt the biggest action hero of Bollywood. So when we heard that the fighters on the sets of his upcoming flick Mental were causing him trouble, it was tough to believe! A brief image of a screaming Sallu sending a few dozen men flying around flashed in our heads. But that happens only in the movies! In real life, it is Sallu who is facing a stalled shoot owing to the demands by the stunt fighters working in the film.
The fighters from South have been giving Salman and Sohail Khan a tough time on the sets of the film in Lavasa. They had initially alleged that they were outnumbered by the fighters from Bollywood (three to one), and asked for a more equitable representation. Later, they discovered that they were earning only half of what their Bollywood counterparts were paid, and immediately decided to halt the shoot until their demands were met. They even complained to the FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) who sided with Salman and said that when a South film is shot in Mumbai, they make sure that there are more people from the South in all departments. However, considering that Mental is a Hindi film, albeit a South remake, the presence of more Bollywood fighters is justified.
However, Salman and Sohail are both currently having a real hard time since the fighters have refused to budge until their demands are met. Now they can only wait and hope for relief in the form of Shiva and Vijayan – the two officials of Film Employees Federation of South India, who will be visiting Mumbai to talk to the concerned fighters to end the deadlock.
Now we hope the otherwise just and fair Salman Khan will see that the fighters are dealt with in a fair, just and humane manner. After all, Salman is the founder of Being Human that stands for everything nice! What say, BollywoodLifers?

No Salman Khan Film This Year with 'Mental' & 'No Entry Mein Entry' Delayed

No Salman Khan Film This Year with 'Mental' & 'No Entry Mein Entry' Delayed

Because of a delayed start, Mental does not have a suitable release slot in 2013. Also, the scheduled start of No Entry Mein Entry in June is likely to be pushed back by several weeks.
As a result, there is unlikely to be a Salman Khan release this year!
Mental is going to take 135 days to complete, a source tells the TOI.
"There are five major action sequences including the high-octane climax, which takes place on a highway with Salman bringing all traffic to a halt," the source explains. "Most importantly, everything is planned bearing in mind Salman's nerve trouble (Trigeminal Neuralgia). Sohail wants to ensure it doesn't aggravate in any manner whatsoever."
By the time Mental is completed, suitable release weekends would be crowded with Krrish 3 slotted for the Diwali weekend (November 1) and Dhoom 3 expected to release around Christmas.
Mental producer and director Sohail Khan now plans to release the film around mid-January.
On completion of filming for Mental, Salman reportedly wants to immediately start working on the long delayed No Entry Mein Entry.
It was earlier expected that production for No Entry Mein Entry will start in June, but the film's producer recently told the HT, "We may not be able to start No Entry Mein Entry in June. It may be pushed back by some weeks. But we really don't mind waiting. Once Salman's health and his other issues are sorted, he will be far more relaxed."
According to the HT, No Entry Mein Entry director Aneez Bazmi may film the sequel to Aankhen for producer Pahlaj Nihalani in the interim.

Salman Khan’s family moves out of Galaxy apartment

It has been 40 years now that Galaxy apartment has been home to Salim Khan and his family. Galaxy is better known as Salman Khan’s home to millions of his fans. But, the apartment is now getting renovated; hence the family has shifted out for 6 months. This is the first time in 40 years that the apartment is lying vacant.
However, Salman Khan continues to live in his one and a half room apartment on the ground floor. The apartment would be approximately 500-600 square feet. His parents and sister Arpita Khan have shifted to a rented apartment in Bandra itself. The new address is next to Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s home. Salim Khan’s home is known for the sumptuous meals that get prepared, and for the several guests that walk in unannounced. They welcome their guests with open arms each time.
It is being said that even at the rented home, close friends and well wishers still walk in for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and they are graciously welcomed.
Earlier, it was being speculated that even Salman Khan might move out of his apartment, but that seems unlikely now. He is extremely attached to his childhood home where he grew up. Even after becoming a superstar, he did not shift into a palatial house or a swanky high rise. Till date, fans gather outside Galaxy apartments to catch a glimpse of him.
He also has a farmhouse in Panvel, and often visits it on weekends and holidays to unwind. Most of his birthday celebrations and New Year parties are also held at his Panvel farmhouse.
Salman Khan recently made his debut as a host at the Renault Star Guild Awards. The award show was a hit, and his parents were extremely proud of him. Salman Khan is known to be very attached to his family, and can go to any lengths to protect them.
On the film front, Salman Khan had a very successful last year with ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Dabbang 2’. ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ broke all records and he won a lot of accolades for his performance. ‘Dabanng 2’ was a complete one man show, with Salman Khan standing out. He is currently looking forward to Sohail Khan’s ‘Mental’ opposite Daisy Shah and Sana Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kick’ with Deepika Padukone. However, it will not be an Eid release this time, as the shooting has not kick started yet.

Salman Khan's personal problems delay No Entry Mein Entry

salman khan's career. Now the 3-week break for his medical checkup and the legal hearings have taken their toll on the superstar on a roll.

We hear his films this year are affected due the double brakes applied to his career. The film that is most affected is producer Boney Kapoor and director Anees Bazmee's No Entry Mein Entry, the sequel to the 2005 hit No Entry, which has again been pushed forward.

A source close to the project reveals, "Salman's schedules have again spun out of hand. He wanted to complete his brother Sohail's film and then go straight into No Entry Mein Entry as it has been delayed long enough. But now with his recent trip abroad for treatment, the date situation for this year is again a little shaky."

When contacted producer Boney Kapoor, he admitted that there was a strong possibility of a delay. "We may not be able to start No Entry Mein Entry in June. It may be pushed forward by some weeks. But we really don't mind waiting. Once Salman's health and his other issues are sorted, he will be far more relaxed."

Anees Bazmee who is habituated to directing an average of 2 films a year has been waiting patiently for Salman's dates for the No Entry sequel. Rather than wait any longer, one learns Anees may first start the sequel to Aankhen for producer Pahlaj Nihalani.
