It has been 40 years now that Galaxy apartment has been home to Salim Khan and his family. Galaxy is better known as Salman Khan’s home to millions of his fans. But, the apartment is now getting renovated; hence the family has shifted out for 6 months. This is the first time in 40 years that the apartment is lying vacant.
However, Salman Khan continues to live in his one and a half room apartment on the ground floor. The apartment would be approximately 500-600 square feet. His parents and sister Arpita Khan have shifted to a rented apartment in Bandra itself. The new address is next to Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s home. Salim Khan’s home is known for the sumptuous meals that get prepared, and for the several guests that walk in unannounced. They welcome their guests with open arms each time.
It is being said that even at the rented home, close friends and well wishers still walk in for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and they are graciously welcomed.
Earlier, it was being speculated that even Salman Khan might move out of his apartment, but that seems unlikely now. He is extremely attached to his childhood home where he grew up. Even after becoming a superstar, he did not shift into a palatial house or a swanky high rise. Till date, fans gather outside Galaxy apartments to catch a glimpse of him.
He also has a farmhouse in Panvel, and often visits it on weekends and holidays to unwind. Most of his birthday celebrations and New Year parties are also held at his Panvel farmhouse.
Salman Khan recently made his debut as a host at the Renault Star Guild Awards. The award show was a hit, and his parents were extremely proud of him. Salman Khan is known to be very attached to his family, and can go to any lengths to protect them.
On the film front, Salman Khan had a very successful last year with ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Dabbang 2’. ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ broke all records and he won a lot of accolades for his performance. ‘Dabanng 2’ was a complete one man show, with Salman Khan standing out. He is currently looking forward to Sohail Khan’s ‘Mental’ opposite Daisy Shah and Sana Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kick’ with Deepika Padukone. However, it will not be an Eid release this time, as the shooting has not kick started yet.
