"I am making No Entry sequel first, Aankhen sequel later" - Anees Bazmee -

Anees Bazmee is on an unprecedented high. Not only is he ready to go on the floor with his sequel to the 2005 hit comedy No Entry, he is all set to do a sequel to the 1993 hit Aankhen which featured Govinda and Chunky Pandey as two wastrels and their antics across blunder land.

The sequel entitled Aankhen Chaar will feature the same main characters as well as the same supporting characters, though some of the actors would be different.

Informs Anees, "Actually the delay in the sequel to No Entry Mein Entry gave me a chance to not only polish up the script of the film, but it also gave me an opportunity to write the Aankhen sequel."

Anees is kicked by the fact that Aankhen is remembered to this day. "It was released in 1993. Audiences haven't forgotten it. So the producer Pahlaj Nihalaniji and I thought a sequel was a good idea. Fortunately for me, I had written Aankhen (though I hadn't directed it). So I know the characters very well. It was easy for me to carry them forward."

Though the writer-director is loath to reveal too many details, he does let out that Aankhen Chaar would have some of the characters playing double role. The same would be true of No Entry Mein Entry where Salman Khan and some other characters would have double roles.

Promises Anees, "Though both are comedies and both have characters in double roles I can assure you there would be no similarity between the sequels to No Entry and Aankhen. Also, there would be no hint of vulgarity in my films at all. No double meanings, except the title Aankhen Chaar which refers to the double roles for some of the characters and also the process of falling in love which is often give the definition of 'aankhen chaar hona'. That apart, I want both the sequels to be clean comedies that a father can comfortably watch with his daughter. In any case Salmanbhai has a clean image. He wouldn't bear any innuendos. So we're on the same page on that. This is first double role since Judwaa and we want his younger fans to love the film as much as Judwaa."

Rubbishing reports that Salman Khan has decided to move forward plans of doing the No Entry sequel, producer Boney Kapoor confirms that the superstar is all set to begin work on film soon.

Says Boney, "Salman will be doing his brother Sohail Khan's film. Then he will go into my film and Sajid Nadiadwala's film Kick." - See more at: http://www.bollywoodhungama.com/news/1712594/#sthash.KO3f7c4L.dpuf

Salman Khan's Sooraj Bharjatiya Film Pushed Back to 2014

Sooraj Bharjatiya has completed scripting his film headlining Salman Khan and the actor has confirmed his participation in the project, but Salman's dates calendar is full this year.

February 22, 2013, (Sawfnews.com) - Sooraj Bharjatiya has completed scripting his film headlining Salman Khan and the actor has confirmed his participation in the project, but Salman's dates calendar is full this year.
An industry insider tells the HT, "Salman and Soorajji have discussed the script, but it's next to impossible that he can take out time for it in 2013. In fact, he is yet to start shooting for Sohail Khan's Mental, which will be his first release this year."
Sohail Khan's Mental will start production in Dubai in March. In July, Salman will start filming for Sajid Khan's Kick. Further ahead, Salman has Anees Bazmee's No Entry Mein Entry and Prabhudheva's next lined up.
Bharjatiya's next, tentatively titled Bade Bhaiyya is the story of two brothers. The younger brother being a rebel and the older brother, played by Salman, mentors him to settle down in life.
Barjatya describes his film as a family drama with lots of characters. Each character has been written carefully.
"It would convey all the joys and sorrows of a joint family. It will have tears and laughter and of course celebration. But at the same time it'd be a little different from the family films I've made in the past. The definition of family values has changed in recent years. My film would have to reflect that change."

Salman Khan Makes Radical Changes To 'No Entry Mein Entry

MUMBAI: The ‘Mr India’ sequel which would bring together Anil Kapoor and Sridevi along with Boney’s son Arjun Kapoor and a new girl is on hold. Admits Boney, “At the moment my complete attention is on starting the ‘No Entry’ sequel.”
Apparently Salman Khan agreed to do the sequel ‘No Entry Mein Entry’ only after Boney and Anees agreed to some radical changes in the script suggested by Salman.
For the first time in recent years Salman will shoot for two films simultaneously—Boney’s ‘No Entry Mein Entry’ and Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kick’—from June 2013.
Says Boney, “From now till June when ‘No Entry Mein Entry’ starts our focus would be entirely on that project.”
As for the sequel to ‘Mr India’, says a source close to producer Boney Kapoor, “Mr India 2 needs to develop Sridevi’s role further. It would in all probability be Sri’s first post ‘English Vinglish’ film and it has to have a substantial well-etched role for her. The script that was being developed had a fair amount of space for Sri and Anil Kapoor. But not enough to justify their presence.”
Admits Boney, “It is a responsibility, specially after ‘English Vinglish’. Whatever Sri does next has to be on a par with if not better than ‘English Vinglish’. So yes, we’re re-working the ‘Mr India 2′ script. Sri’s character in the original film of a zany journalist had been immensely liked. We are looking at  how her role can be taken forward  keeping in mind the years in the interim.”
“We need to go carefully on ‘Mr India 2′. The script has to be better than the first film and the special effects would have to be on a par with with Hobbit and Superman,” adds Kapoor.

I don't like movie promotions: Salman Khan

New Delhi: Superstar Salman Khan says that he hates getting out of his house to promote movies before their release. The 47-year-old had a busy 2012 as he was extensively promoting his two releases - Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2. Salman Khan says he misses old days when putting up a film's poster was the only promotion required. "I don't like movie promotions... Today you have to keep aside a month and half for promotions because producers tie up with so many brands. Producers have become kanjus (stingy) today. Back then just a films' poster was enough but today you have to go to so many cities, talk to so many people. It is very hectic," said Salman. The actor was here to attend his NGO Being Human's tie up with Coca Cola and NIIT for scaling up the beverage brand's Career Development Center - an initiative to empower and educate youth in rural areas. Salman said he pledged his support for this cause as he thinks education and employment are important tools for developing the country. "Being human was my parents idea, I have just streamlined it. I am very proud of being a part of this initiative and hope that benefits maximum children." When asked how he manages his NGO between hectic movie shootings, he joked, "I go late on movie sets, leave early." PTI

Salman Khan inks Rs 500 crore deal with STAR network

In a never-heard-before agreement, STAR network has obtained the satellite rights of all the Dabangg actor’s films for the next five years

With his recent records at the box office, looks like Salman Khan’s career is on an all-time high. Now that he has become a phenomenon of sorts and is being dubbed as the Rajinikanth of B-town, the actor has decided to cash in on the small screen too.
As per the contract Salman has signed with Star Gold, the channel has bagged the exclusive satellite rights to broadcast all the films featuring Salman that releases between January 2013 to December 2017 – which may include Kick, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sohail Khan’s Mental, Boney Kapoor’sNo Entry Mein Entry, Subhash Ghai’s untitled film and also Sooraj Barjatya’s family drama besides others that will release before December 2017.
Interestingly, since it’s a contract between a channel and an actor, Star network will pay Rs 500 crores to Sallu. It can be thus assumed that each Salman film will approximately be priced at Rs 50 crores and that the actor will do two films on an average, per year.
In today’s time, the cost of buying the satellite rights of a big budget Bollywood movie is estimated at around Rs 50 crores. So Salman’s price is justifiable. Even if Sallu delivers a flop, he will not have to worry about the recovery of his film, considering that he has already sold his projects to Star network.
Congratulations Salman, so now what next? Rs 1000 crore deal? We won’t be surprised!
